Arts in Libraries St Helens

Creative Alternatives forms part of the Arts in Libraries programme for St Helens Borough Council. Arts in Libraries are funded by Arts Council England to champion, promote, develop and deliver a diverse and inclusive programme of arts and culture across all seven of St Helens borough’s libraries.

However you choose to get creative, whether it’s watching exciting performances, getting involved as an artist or community group, visiting a fresh new exhibition with friends, or meeting new people through our workshops – Arts in Libraries are there to make sure it’s going on in your library.

St Helens Libraries are the perfect, welcoming environment for art, dance, writing, drama, cabaret, making, conversations, laughter, meeting people, and having great ideas. Guided by the belief in the rich creative spirit of the people of St Helens borough, and that art is good for all of us, they are dedicated to nurturing a unique, creative community environment for everyone to enjoy.

The Arts in Libraries team are working to strengthen the sense of community, and to use art and crafts, performance and participation, to improve the wellbeing of people who live and work in St Helens.
